|Louisville falls to #5, a drop of four spots in this week's AP Top 25 poll. The Cardinals join four Big East teams in the poll, the others being Syracuse at #3, Cincinnati (#21), and Notre Dame (#24). One Big East team fell out of the poll this week. Marquette was ranked #25. Louisville started off the week with a win at Connecticut, 73-58. That was followed by an upset loss at home against then-6th ranked Syracuse, 70-68.
Syracuse moves up three spots in the poll following a single game that resulted in an upset win at Louisville.
Cincinnati enters the poll at #21 after wins against then-25th ranked Marquette, 71-69 and DePaul, 75-70. Notre Dame moves down four spots after a win against Rutgers, 69-66 and a loss to St. John's, 67-63. Marquette drops out of the poll after a win against Seton Hall, 69-62 and a loss to Cincinnati.
Duke gets back the number one ranking following a week in which they played just one game, a victory at home against Georgia Tech, 73-57.
Joining Cincinnati as a newcomer, Wichita State enters the Top 25 at #20 with a win at home over Illinois State, 74-62 and an upset win at home over then-12th ranked Creighton, 67-64. Ole Miss also enters the Top 25 at #23, along with Miami (FL) at #25. San Diego State drops out of the Top 25 this week with an upset loss at home to UNLV, 82-75 and an upset loss at Wyoming, 58-45. Illinois and UCLA also drop out this week.
